Egypt’s parliament sits for the first time since Hosni Mubarak was deposed البرلمان المصري الجديد يعقد أولى جلساته

January 23, 2012 -- Egypt's parliament sits for the first time since Hosni Mubarak was deposed. Following a historic election, the People's Assembly will now select a speaker and form a committee to write Egypt's new constitution. Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, head of Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), has appointed 10 MPs including five Christians and the only two women in parliament.
