Erdogan today announced a new initiative to halt violence in Syria

Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan addresses lawmakers of his party at the parliament in Ankara on February 7, 2012. Erdogan today announced a new initiative with regional players to halt months-long violence in Syria after the veto of a UN draft which he said gave President Bashar al-Assad "license to kill."
