November 12, 2014 -- Europe's Rosetta mission has made a historic first landing on a comet, 510 million kilometres (300 million miles) from Earth. The landing by the spacecraft's Philae probe on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko marks the highlight of the decade-long mission to learn more about the origins of our Solar System.
